I'm OK

So far, so good! No more food came out of my tummy yesterday, I enjoyed playing for a lot of the day, and I even put my pants back on. I slept all the way through the night last night, just like a normal night, and Mommy and Daddy heard that I'm awake this morning because I sneezed twice, just like a normal morning. Thanks to everybody who was concerned while I was feeling yucky!

The Good News and the Bad News

I'll give you the bad news first: last night, I woke up crying, and then my dinner came out of my tummy. It was not fun at all! I'm almost three, and I've never gotten Mommy and Daddy up in the middle of the night for tummy troubles before, so they should probably be thankful.

The good news is that Mommy and I discovered that the tracks to my new trains from the nice gas station lady work with my IKEA trains from baby Natalie! And that's GREAT news! So now I'm playing in my soft dump truck shirt with no pants. Mommy let me choose since I don't feel very good.

Sleep = Smart?

You probably know that my parents like me to get a lot of sleep (and I like my sleep, too.) I thought that maybe when I got older, I'd get to stay up late like Mommy and Daddy, but if Mommy keeps reading articles like this, my chances of that are not very good.

Go Big Red!

At the Gas Station?

The best thing happened at the gas station last week. A lady getting gas near us struck up a conversation with Mommy. Then she asked how old I was, and told Mommy that she had a set of Thomas trains that she was on her way to give away-and would I like them? Of course, we said yes! What a great surprise! Here I am trying them out. As it turns out, four of the pieces have been recalled, but I don't think the nice lady knew about that. We're going to send those pieces back to the company so we can get some free new ones. Really nice people come along and surprise us when we least expect it!

Bonding Time

Today, Mommy and Daddy were putting me down for my nap. After the kisses and hugs, I asked Mommy to leave and "close the door so we can have some bonding time." There's just nothing like bonding with Daddy!

A Great Discovery

Did you know that, if you spit every few feet as you walk down the sidewalk, you can make your own circles on the ground? And you get to make a funny noise at the same time! What could be better?

The Perfect Ending

This was the perfect ending to my day:

Daddy is reading one of the treasures Great Grandma sent home with me. I love to read!

Earlier today, Mommy and I stopped at one of the many fruit stands around here and bought some pumpkins. We got these tiny ones to arrange with our pomegranates (another treasure from Great Grandma) and also some huge ones for outside our front door. The tiny ones were only 5/$1, so we felt like we got a good price, and I got to help choose. Mommy says the huge ones will be good in lots and lots of pies.

We love fall!

Congratulations to Paul!

My buddy, Paul, became a big brother today! Timothy Scott was born this morning at 8:30, and was 8 lbs., 9 oz., and 22" long. Click here to see a quick video of him. Congratulations, Paul!

PS-The video works with QuickTime, which comes with iTunes.

A Catch-Up Post

These pictures are from the last few days-not today-but still worth sharing.

Did you know that Grandma made clown costumes for Mommy and Uncle Todd when they were little? They first wore the costumes when Mommy and Uncle Todd were two and four years old. And Grandma still has them!

Here I am wearing Uncle Todd's clown costume. Now I can be the funny little clown from The Little Engine That Could!

You might think that I'd want to take the costume off pretty quickly, but I actually really liked being that clown.

I had spend some time in this box.

Thank goodness for technology! Here I am talking to Grandma.

All these cars are waiting to go to the mechanic. (The mechanic is under my dump truck.)

Pre-Bedtime Run

A Busy Morning

Today, Mommy and I did a lot together. First, we visited Great Grandma at her house. Then, we saw baby Andrew at the hospital, and last, we got groceries. What a morning!

Here I am playing with this amazing little town for cars. Each of the houses even has a garage where cars can park. Great Grandma knows just how to keep little boys happy since three of her children were boys.

Here we are posing for Mommy at the end of our visit. I went home with lots of special treasures. Thanks for the treasures and the playtime, Great Grandma!

Welcome to the World, Andrew!

My good friend, Ms. Leslie, has had a baby in her tummy the whole time we've known her. Well, now the baby is out! She and Pastor Troy welcomed Andrew Glen into the world yesterday. He was 7 lbs., 7 oz. and 19 1/2" long. We went to meet him today at the hospital. Welcome to the world, Andrew!

A Message for My Little Buddies

Hello little buddies,

If you get the sniffles this fall, you might want to have your mom and dad read this Yahoo article:

Overalls from Emma Claire

Before we moved here, Emma Claire's mommy got some blue overalls for me at a yard sale to grow into someday. Mommy and Ms. Caroline agreed that they looked "so big" but knew they'd be cute on me when I got big. Well...someday has come quickly! Mommy let me wear them to church today and figured that she'd have to roll up my overalls, but they were just long enough! Mommy still forgets how big I am sometimes. Here I am posing in them for Emma Claire. Thanks again, Ms. Caroline!

Riding My Tricycle

Too Cute-a Note from Mommy

Fall is here and December is on the way, so of course I've been thinking about Jonathan's birthday. We think we want to do a train-themed family party this year, and look what I found!

Train cupcake molds! We thought they were pretty cute, and I'm sure we'll be using them to make train cupcakes, muffins, and Jell-o for years.

A Calendar by Anna's Mom

My old playgroup buddy, Anna, has an artistic mom. You might have read her blog-it's down in my list of grownup blogs. Anna's mom has a published calendar for this year that you might enjoy. It's on Mommy's Christmas wish list...maybe it can be on yours, too!
