Yesterday, Daddy and I had an adventure together. We went to Caleb's birthday party! Mommy couldn't come, so we had some bonding time. We got to see Caleb's CATS! We also saw Caleb. He's a big boy just like me now.
Some things happened at Caleb's house that I don't think Daddy planned. One was that, while I was exploring, I fell. My tooth cut my lip and made me cry, and while I was crying, my blood from my lip got on Daddy's shirt. The other was that I spilled Daddy's coffee on his shirt. (He made sure that Mommy knew that it wasn't hot enough to burn either of us.) But, don't worry, the stains came out of Daddy's shirt, and my lip doesn't bother me at all.
Anyway, Happy Birthday to Caleb!
Caleb, you're getting all of that yucky, sticky frosting all over your hands! Doesn't that bother you?
All that partying wore me out.
Caleb's First Birthday
A Day in the Life

I love walking with Daddy. He goes so fast!
Daddy makes me fly!
I'm sure there's a trick to getting into these drawers.
When Mommy's cooking, I want to be a part of the action.
My Buddy Caleb
Yesterday, we went to my buddy Caleb's house twice. We had a great time! I think Mommy was supposed to take care of us, but really she just let us play. Caleb has some great toys, and he has CATS, too! I love his cats. Here are some pictures of Caleb and me together.
I think we'll love computers someday! We would love them now, but our parents say they're not for little kids.
I didn't want to share Caleb's toy with him. I wanted to push the buttons all by myself. Mommy said that wasn't nice. I thought it would be pretty nice to do it myself!
Here we are playing at Caleb's coffee table. What a great play spot! We don't have one at my house.
Something tells me I'm going to get some sharing lessons soon.
Thirteen Months
Yup, it's true-I turned thirteen months old yesterday! Here are some pictures Mommy took of me. They're action shots, just like all my pictures these days.
I am playing with the mooses on Mommy and Daddy's bed, and I'm wearing my new moose sweater. My buddy Nathan got me this great sweater for my birthday because his Mommy and Daddy know about the mooses, especially Millie. (Yes, Mommy and Daddy have their own toys, and they have names!) Mommy and Daddy's mooses are named Rudy, Millie, Minnie, and Frango. It's a good thing their bed is big to make room for everyone! Anyway, thanks, Nathan. I love my sweater!
There are lots of fun things to do around here if you're thirteen months old. One is play on this soft bed and pretend to fall down. (That's not very fun on my bed, which is not soft.) I like to fall back in the pillows while Mommy and Daddy laugh. I also like to stand up and play just about anywhere, and if I'm having a good time, which I usually am, I will squeal over and over. I still love sitting and looking at my books in my room, and I got some great ones for Christmas! It's really fun to walk around the house while I'm holding onto somebody's fingers. Someday I'll walk without holding on, but I like the fingers for now. There are some things I like to do that Mommy and Daddy don't think are so fun, but I'll tell you about them anyway. Here they are: pulling things off of the kitchen table, driving my cars on the walls, and pulling grown-up books off of the bookshelves. Do you think I'll be allowed to do those things when I'm bigger? Maybe when I turn fourteen months old.

Ups and Downs

Here I am at Sam's house sharing my favorite trike with him. Playing with Sam is so much fun! I got to try some homemade pizza for the very first time at Sam's house. Aunt Anna makes yummy pizza!
One of my favorite things to do is pull all of my books off of my shelf and then look at them one by one. Here I am looking at my Doggies book from my buddy Graham, and I'm also wearing my new jammies from my big buddy, Sam. Sam picked them out just for me! As you can see, they are big boy pajamas because they don't have any feet in them. Now I can be a big boy just like Sam. Do you think Mommy will forget to make me wear socks? Probably not.
I love my truck more than almost anything, but sometimes when I push it, it gets stuck. I don't know how to turn it around yet, and it makes me so MAD!
Mommy Goofed
If you know my mommy at all, you know that she's really good at following directions. (I hear that she used to even be a teacher and teach kids to follow directions!) Unfortunately, it didn't work so well with this outfit. The tag says "27-32 lbs." on it. I weigh around 22 lbs., and as you can see from this picture, it probably won't fit 5 lbs. from now! Grandma and Grandpa got it for me, and if you read it, I think the tummy says where. I think I'll be wearing it a lot this winter and pretending that it's summertime.
Mommy feels bad because she should have let me wear my outfit sooner. That's OK, Mommy. This way, it shows off my muscles.
Here's a side shot of my muscles in my summertime outfit.
Busy Little Man
Wherever we go, strangers say to Mommy and Daddy, "He's busy, isn't he?" Well, I have to prove them right...this is one of the ways I do it.
Yahoo! I finally got myself in here!
Now, what is that over there...
Pray for Ira
Baby Ira is having a terrible time. While you're looking at my Christmas pictures, think about Ira and pray that he'll get better. You can look at his blog to see how he's doing.
Our Christmas Trip
Today I'm going to tell you all about my Christmas trip. There's lots to tell, but Mommy is helping me post all these pictures, and she says she can only do so much. So, I'll just do my best! You can start here, at the top, and then go down. Mommy and Daddy and I flew on some airplanes to see lots of family that loves us. I don't really like flying on planes anymore. But let's not talk about that.
We did lots of things on our trip to celebrate Jesus' birthday. I got more toys for his birthday than I ever imagined. Thanks, everyone, for my great toys! I also got to stay in my jammies a lot and play with boxes. Now that we're back home, it's not going to be quite so exciting because I don't have so many people that I can entertain. But, I got to bring my new toys with me, so I'll still have a good time. What a deal! Here are some pictures of our adventures on our Christmas trip. Have fun looking at them!
This is one of the great boxes I got to play with while I opened my gifts. Do you see that phone down in the corner of the picture? That's the very same phone that Mommy used to call someone named Oklahoma when she was a very little girl. I tried calling him, but I couldn't get him to answer.
What is THIS?
I think this is the best truck I've seen in my whole life! Uncle Todd, you know just how to make a little guy happy.
Here's Mommy on Christmas morning with my aunts, Amanda and Corinne. They're all kind of like sisters now that Uncle Todd married Aunt Corinne.
Here are my great grandma and great grandpa. They are Grandpa's mommy and daddy. Can you imagine what it was like when he was a very little boy and they were chasing him around? I'm trying, but it's hard. I bet they had a great time doing that.
Great Grandpa is watching me eat my zucchini. It's great stuff. He can't believe I like it. Why not?
This is my new trick: eating double-fisted. I do it when I really love what I'm eating, like these aebleskivers. Grandpa made them, and I just LOVE them! They're much better than zucchini. Num, num!
Uncle Todd, I love you, and I want to be just as tall as you, but I am not going to give you "five."
Grandma and I spent a lot of time playing together on this trip. She's a lot of fun!
Here I am showing Grandma how to be a farmer with this new farm that she and Grandpa Don gave me. I like putting the animals through all the doors and windows.
Here is a great box! Mommy's uncle Garth, aunt Kathy, and her cousins, Neil, Jordan, and Sarah, got it just for me. Oh, and I love the monkey inside, too. He talks to me and is good for hugging.
Here are Mommy, Uncle Todd, and Aunt Amanda. Even though they are brother and sisters, they don't get to see each other very often.
This is a much more accurate picture of Mommy, Uncle Todd, and Aunt Amanda. It's what they really look like.
Aunt Amanda gave me these great Legos for one-year-olds. Daddy builds towers out of them for me to knock down. I like that, but I like swimming in the Legos even better. They make such a great sound!
Look at this great singing bug! I got it for Christmas. Thanks for my bug, Doreen!
Here I am with Grandpa. He's reading me a book that his friends gave to him so he could read it to me. Grandpa also made me pancakes for breakfast. I LOVE pancakes! Thanks, Grandpa!
Here I am meeting Uncle Todd and Aunt Corinne's dog, Copper. He's so big!
Aunt Corinne is so good at sharing. She's sharing her sunglasses with me.
Mommy and Daddy and I had a special dinner at the Olive Garden while we were on our trip. We had a great time! The waitress put a big glass of water right in front of me just so I could knock it down. No other waitress has been that nice to me before! She also tried to give me my very own dish of marinara sauce to dip my hands in, but Mommy grabbed my hands before I could start dipping. I got to eat pasta, too. Yum! This picture is of the mommies and the babies. First are Paul and his mommy, Sarah, then me with my mommy, and then Isaac with his mommy, Kathy. They have been friends for a long time and worked at something called a summer camp together. Maybe someday I'll get to go to the summer camp where they worked!
Isaac and I are both wondering why we're in here and where we're going.
I love playing with Daddy and my toys!
What is this? We don't have these boingy things at our house. Why not?
Ooooh, this boingy thing is so yummy.
