26 Week Checkup: from Mommy

I had my checkup this morning, and it went really well. Before I share the details, I have to say that it has been great going to a medical group that actually schedules patients for as much time as they need. I have gotten plenty of attention from the midwife at each appointment, but it's not unusual for me to be in and out of the office in 45 minutes-which I was today. It's not because she rushes me. I'm just not sitting and waiting! I so appreciate accurate scheduling!

Anyway, the midwife I saw today was happy with how the baby and I are doing. She looked back at our ultrasound and thought all the stats looked great. She listened to the baby's heartbeat (and could hear mine at the same time) and thought it sounded fantastic. She didn't seem very worried about the baby's size or mine, which was reassuring to me. And, she said it was a good sign that I am feeling kicks all over the place. I need to do my gestational diabetes screening within the next week or so, and after my next appointment, I'll need to start going in every two weeks instead of every four weeks. Hard to believe we're almost that far along! We're thankful for every stage of this miracle.

I had hoped to wear this (hand-me-down) top at Christmas, but I doubt I'll be able to squeeze into it...so I wore it for Thanksgiving.  Oh, and Jonathan told me that he wants to go to the baby's next appointment so that he can hear the baby's heart go "chug-chug-chug."  :)

Amy, you look fabulous! There is always something special about pregnant women in general. You can see it in your smile. Children are truly a heritage from God. Blessings to you and Jeff during this wonderful time.
