Legos and Grandparents-from Mommy

Jonathan's imagination is growing by leaps and bounds. Just a few months ago, he had trouble building with his (Duplo) Legos on his own, but now it's one of his favorite things to do each day. We never know what he's going to make next! (And, of course, it takes a lot of imagination to see what his creations really are. :) ) He still pretends to be different animals all the time. He's talking like crazy, so it's really fun to chat with him about whatever's on his mind. He doesn't hesitate to let us know. He is also growing physically. His grandpa measured him this week, and he's around 40 1/2" tall. That's closer to accurate, we think, than the measurement at his three-year checkup. We don't usually have to roll up his size 4T shirts and pants anymore-they fit "just right" and I bet they'll be too short by next fall. He still loves to read as much as he can. His current favorite book is Tikki Tikki Tembo.

We just took Jonathan's faraway grandparents to the airport this morning. We all had a really nice time and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. They worked and worked out in the yard, which gave Jonathan some blissful hours playing in the dirt. They also made sure Jonathan had a few more Legos so that he didn't run out while building towers, cranes, and castles. We'll all look forward to our next visit, and I'll post pictures soon! (We're getting a new power supply on our computer, so I can't show off the pictures just yet.)
